a couple of weeks ago, i noticed that soren was licking his foot rather intensely. once i managed to pin him down and inspect it, i found a rather large wound on his back pad. this is what soren looked like a trip to the vet and many dollars later. he had to wear the collar for a week, and trust me, it is so fun to have a cat with an e-collar on. actually, the first few hours, when they're running into walls and doors because the collar is messing up with their senses, it is fun... but several days later, once they are used to it and feeling frisky and trying to jump on the counters (and falling down... dragging everything on the counter with them) just like normals times... not so fun. ridiculous cat.
the other pic is of gavilan, my latest greyhound love. actually, greyhound X saluki, but whatevs. he was my dog during the
ttouch seminar at the beginning of november, and we totally love each other now. i think come spring time i'm coming to foster him... perhaps not the best idea since i tend to only foster dogs that i'd really rather keep... but i can't really help it.
i've been taking anja with me to school lately. i've found that it really helps keep me calm during discussion sections. the students start to bug me, i can just reach out and hug the pup. today i also used her to enliven dull sections. if the students got too blah, i asked anja to sit next to me in a chair (or let her climb onto the table and run around). it was amazing how well it worked.

anja: super teacher pup!
Nice Soren picture. It looks like he's pleading to be released from the collar.
Danielle! How the heck are you?! Long time, no talk.
