almost... there...

so close to finishing my grading... so, clearly procrastination is in order. i'm grading papers now, which is not nearly as bad as grading tests. (theres a car outside revving its engine like mad... i wonder if it's dead, or stuck? i'm too comfy to get up and look, so i guess we'll never know.) but, after a while it still makes my head hurt. i'm trying to not be too hard on them... i know i tend to hold people to a very high standard of writing, so i am trying to compensate for that. it makes things go slower though. i've also found myself not reading some of these papers very closely. it seems that a nice skim (with close attention to intro and conclusion) seems to do it. its a lot easier than i anticipated to see where the kids are going with their papers and skip to the end so as to avoid all the bs. i wonder if that's how my profs read my papers. scary.

i think my favorite part of being in the blog-world is getting comments posted on my blog now and again. its a nice feeling to come back to the blog and see that someone actually wanted to respond to you. its also kinda fun (but not as fun) to look at how many profile views i've gotten. i've notice a sharp increase since i posted a comment of john's blog... figures.

i can't wait till break really starts... and by that i mean when not only i have my work done, but the dude has his work done, and we're both done with our apps, and then we can rest... that will be a glorious day. i think we will sleep forever.

i took my kitty-man to dan's today, where he will be spending the christmas break. i miss him. it's weird not having him in the apt. and annoying having the only cats here be my roommates cats (i don't get along so well with chloe and murphy). so, since i miss my guy, i'm putting a pic of him up here. and no, he never actually drank any beer (its highly toxic for cats). the bottle was empty before he started playing with it. but i wish i was drinking a beer... that would make the papers go by faster...
